Loads of Shit (2024)

Original title: Sitta kanti

Documentary Duration 28:25

Sünopsis

Fecal truck driver Erki, portable toilet renter Toomas, and sewage treatment plant expert Andra are active and cheerful Estonian people who have chosen a profession that is usually considered dirty and shameful, and which no one dreams of as a child. However, in modern times, everyone needs the work and service of these people. Everything that is related to toilet is still a taboo and people feel embarrassed and ashamed even talking about their natural needs. And of course, no one wants to know what happens to the result after the toilet lid is closed. Estonians' toilet culture is actually quite young, and 100 years ago there were still places in Estonia where there were no toilets, and people did their business even in between potato fields. The film takes a close look at Estonians' relationship with their feces and follows how Erkki, Toomas, and Andra have turned the fecal industry into their business, livelyhood, and profession, and by the end of the film, we find out how the shit was carried, where the shit was carried, why the shit was carried, and what was left after the shit was carried.
