Summer Night Love (2016)

The family is already asleep when Kusta knocks on the door. Behind it, sleeps Maali, crushed from the hard work, dreaming of getting married, raising a family, building a farm. But the knocker is a young servant Kusta, who just wants to spend the night in her warm hands. But Maali knows, why the boy is here and wont let him in. One wants to live, one wants to play, but Maali is already too old to waste her time on ___. But Kusta knows how to play and soon he’s lying in her bed. They both seem to enjoy each others warmth, but at one point, Maali escapes. From Kusta, from her thoughts, from love. They run to the woods, by the river, to the old watermill, where Maali locks herself. Young Kusta does everything to get in, but the night is cold and dark and he fails. Maali hears his struggle and now she can’t hide her love. She bursts into tears and through a crack in the door, they talk and share their feelings. Now the game is over and even Kusta understands why he didnt give up trying to get her. They both want to love, but they don’t know how.
