Original title: Eric. Tule laps

Documentary Duration 26:00

Sünopsis

When we are born and grow up, we will be equipped with a mental map that helps us to form our destiny. However, the map and the reality around us don't always correlate. The map may be more interesting than reality, and reality may turn out more complicated than the map. Eric is a fifty-year-old man who in his youth has witnessed the creative process of designing JUKU personal computer that brought fame to Estonian ESSR. He has experienced a mental state that he calls enlightenment. In 1995 he went to live in a nursing home. On the All Souls' Day in 2008 Eric lights up candles in memory of his close ones and puts on Carmina Burana by Carl Orff. It's his last evening in the nursery home. The documentary follows his steps towards leading an independent life.
