Sünopsis

Opening of the memorial tablet at Leevaku power plant, Estonia.

The film chroncile begins with the episodes from the newsreel "Soviet Estonia" from August 21st, 1947 where the viewer can see the young Komsomol members at the renovation works of Leevaku hydroelectric power plant. Red Soviet flags are waving. The building of a hydroelectric power plant by the bank of the Võhandu River. Fifteen years have passed from the construction activity by the boys' brigade of Järvesuu. Three men in winter clothing are walking along the path. Views to the crowd that has gathered to the yard of the power plant. People are waving red flags. A few women with photo cameras, the majority of the people are schoolchildren. Close-up of a speaker wearing a tie. View to the applauding audience. Bus is arriving for taking the people away. The cloth covering the memorial tablet is taken away. Text on the tablet in Estonian and Russian: "Leevaku hydroelectric power plant – the first shock construction built in 1947 by the Young Communist League of Estonia".
