Sünopsis

“Härjasilmad” is a love story loosely based on the Greek myth of the Minotaur. What would happen if Theseus - the hero of the story - fell in love with the imprisoned beast instead of fulfilling his duty? The setting is moved from an Ancient Greek labyrinth to a cluttered housing estate, where the two characters struggle with living together. Theseus is giving more and more of himself to the Minotaur, but the half-man half-bull just can\'t go against its nature. The movie was filmed in a studio over the course of five days. Four rooms and the bull\'s head were built from scratch. Each of the rooms have their distinct colour palette, as well as the mythical labyrinth, which consists of a total of 6 walls. Creating the bull\'s head was one of the biggest challenges, because it had to appear both tangible and symbolic to fit the world around it. Wes Anderson and Roy Andersson inspired the cinematography: the use of wide lenses and slight camera movements were employed in the housing estate sequences to appeal to a sense of absurd realism.
