Kingdom of the Elk (2007)

Title in Estonian: Põdra kuningriik

Documentary Duration 60:00

Sünopsis

Elk is one of the biggest and grandest wild animals in Estonian forests who has lived here already for eleven thousand years. When we get a glimpse of his enimal through a car window it won't tell us anything about the actual life of the elk, about its peaceful and grand state in its natural environment. The documentary journey travels through the kingdom of the elk where life flows peacefully in the rhythm that has been set since the ancient times. The spectator will see the perennial circle of the largest mammal of Estonian forests during one hour of the film. Elks have been filmed in their natural habitats and filmmakers have observed the living logic and daily life of these peaceful animals. Attention is also paid to the contradictory relationships between human beings and elks at the present day.
