"My Name Boris" is an architecture film focusing on the grain elevator building in Tallinn, Estonia.

After years of being a place filled with rough, rugged men spending their time on hard, manual labor, the building has been renovated and is slowly filling up with offices, cafeterias and eco- stores selling gluten-free muffins. For someone who has lived through 2 world wars but always served the same function, this triggers an identity crisis.

Documentary dedicated to the memory of Jüri Müür. The film about how the master of land - the farmer – becomes the slave of land.

The documentary has documented rural life in Estonia in 1991 "from the idyllic to the idiotic" when there was no Land Reform Act. Restoring farms have started on the level of instincts, with unpolished legislation and without the new land readjustment. Perhaps just based on the farmer's sense of mission ... The filmmakers introduce three new farmers who try to build their homes without much thinking of their health.

Episodes about the everyday life in collective farms and the film chronicles about the era of the first Republic of Estonia, about the rural life and founding of collective farms. Voiceover by Mikk Mikiver.

Estonian Film Database (EFDB)

The database is maintained by NGO Estonian Film Database. It was opened on 12.12.2012 and is meant for providing information about the whole Estonian film heritage from 1912. We plan fully complete it by 2025 but already now full and partial entries for about 20 000 films, 27 000 filmmakers, and more than 200 production companies could be retrieved in Estonian and partly in English. Translation of film descriptions and keywords into English is ongoing but due to the scarcity of resources quite a slow process. Read more detailed overview.
