It is 3 AM on June 14, 1941. More than 40,000 Estonians, Latvians and Lithuanians are deported to Siberia by the authorities of Soviet Russia. Among then is Erna, a 27-year-old student of philosophy, mother of a small daughter and happily married. Her husband is sent to a prison camp, and Erna with her daughter and other women and children are deported to the uninhabited territories of Siberia for 15 years. Despite hunger, diseases and humiliation, Erna won't lose hope to return to her homeland one day. The film is based on true events.

Those who stayed alive in Siberia and made it back to homeland will have the chance to speak in the film. FIlmmaker Andres Sööt, whose family was also among those breaking apart because of the deportation in 1941, dedicates the film to all those sent to Siberia. This is a timeless responsibility - not to forget.

Peter and his wife are having dinner in a restaurant with their friends. The wife says that they have not quarreled for already two weeks. However, this is just a pretext, preceding a solid war. At the night of June 14, 1941, more than ten thousand people were deported to Siberia, most of them being women and children. The film introduces those who stayed alive in SIberia and finally returned back home. Director Andres Sööt whose family also collapsed due to the June deportation dedicates his film to all those sent to Siberia. This is an everlasting responsibility - not to forget.
