Detailne sisukirjeldus inglise keeles:

Year 1990. In the Russian countryside few boys play hide and seek game in various village yards. The “It” faces the door and counts out loud numbers till 100, while everybody else hides. Somebody sneezes in the bushes and immediately gives himself away. Other boys strip their clothes, while making their way through the fence. Boys run up to the door of a shop, hit the white square and finally say words “Bloody murder!”. Otherwise the one that doesn’t say that has to be the “it”. Zakhar (6 years old) is the youngest one from the bunch, that is why nobody really ever looks for him. However, he always hides with diligence and always runs up to the wall really quickly, so that nobody can catch him.

Once Zakhar hides and makes an acquantance with the boy from another village Sasha (11 years old). Sasha shows to Zakhar “the safest place ever”, which appears to be the fridge.Later Sasha and Zakhar try to sneak back to the white square and get spotted by two other boys from the gang, who start to make fun out of them. Sasha and Denis have a conflict. At the most tense moment Denis’ nose starts to bleed without any hits. The day sets to an end. Sasha and Zakhar roam back home with the flock of goats, who bleat badly. They speak about their sleeps and Sasha teaches Zakhar how to fall asleep faster. The following night Zakhar sleeps really well.

On the next morning Zakhar finds Sasha sitting with his back next to the tree and parodying the crow croaking. Zakhar tries to warn Sasha, that he should stop or he will get spotted. However Sasha continues. Zakhar sees that the “it” is approaching, so he jumps out in the last moment in order to cover his friend. The “it” runs back to spot Zakhar. Zakhar feels hurt, by Sashas actions. The day is drawing to a close and boys decide to let Zakhar lead the game. Sasha teaches Zakhar to whistle a melody, that will help them to find each other.

Finally, Zakhar starts to seek. However, boys trick him and go away home. Zakhar still continues to roam around the bushes, while raising his thin legs really high. The crow falls silent and the goats are driven away home. Zakhar tries to find Sasha by whistling a melody, that they learned before, but no answer follows. After a long walk with stumbling against the stones Zakhar gets back to the shop. He shivers and his teeth chatter with cold. White square on the wall is almost indistinguishable. “Bloody Murder” – whispers Zakhar and presses his hand against the white square. During the night Zakhar can not fall asleep and counts sheep.

On the next morning while having a breakfast Zakhar finds out about Sasha’s accidental death. Zakhar drops everything and quickly rushes up to the place, where the fridge was standing. He discovers that it has been taken away and only the trace of the fridge remained on the ground. Later Zakhar tries to erase the white square from the wall, but he cannot. He sits himself by the wall and starts to whistle the same tune they learned with Sasha.
