The first feature film directed by Mikk Mikiver is based on the play "Man and God" staged by Voldemar Panso in 1962 in Estonian Drama Theatre. The story is based on the second part of pentalogy "Truth and Justice" by Anton Hansen Tammsaare.

Indrek Paas studies in Maurus private grammar school and is the tallest and oldest boy in his class. This does not seem to interest Mr Maurus though.
