His case is to draw attention to the torments caused by the authoritarian administration of justice; as a result, the people necessary for society will be suppressed. When Raave left the prison, he found his path to God and started to study theology.

Among the themes there are the national identity of Estonians, fellowship, local nature and culture. The message is slightly circumspect yet emphasizing Estonian mentality and nationality throughout the film.
