When no public recognition at home, a gospel band Robirohi plans the tour to the source of gospel music, to perform at the halls of fame in Kentucky, USA.

This documentary is a film about bluegrass, gospel and god, in one of the most secular countries in the world. "Robirohi" is not a very well known band in Estonia. Most of their concerts are held in churches and congregations, their soulful music gets little plays on non-christian radio stations. Documentary film tells a story of legendary Soviet time clown Sergey Fatkin. Due to popularity he was allowed to pass iron curtain and visit 35 countries in times when many Soviets didn’t see any foreign country ever. At Paris nightclub Olympia Fatkin performed together with Jaques Brel. Later on Sergei Fatkin made a fatal mistake smuggling Alexander Solzhenitsyn’s Gulag Archipelago into the country. Officially banned book was hand copied and passed around. KGB soon traced down Sergei Fatkin and the legendary clown was arrested, liberated from his titles, awards and private possessions. Ironically – the man who had passed around a book about Soviet prisons was imprisoned for years. Nowadays Sergei Fatkin, free again, is still working modestly as a clown, performing at kindergartens mostly.

Estonian Film Database (EFDB)

The database is maintained by NGO Estonian Film Database. It was opened on 12.12.2012 and is meant for providing information about the whole Estonian film heritage from 1912. We plan fully complete it by 2025 but already now full and partial entries for about 20 000 films, 27 000 filmmakers, and more than 200 production companies could be retrieved in Estonian and partly in English. Translation of film descriptions and keywords into English is ongoing but due to the scarcity of resources quite a slow process. Read more detailed overview.
