He is the author behind more than 200 scientific publications, 62 inventions, 28 patents. His inventions are still used today in Germany, Austria, USA, Japan and Russia. And yet, Johannes Hint died in Patarei prison in Tallinn at the age of 70. In November 1981, Johannes Hint was arrested because of false accusations. On the 50th anniversary of the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact (August 23rd, 1989), a non-violent protest action was organized called the Baltic Way that aimed at directing the world's attention to the attempts of the Baltic States to regain independence.
