Documentary directed by Semyon Shkolnikov about the life and vanishing population of Piirissaare island.

The documentary tells the story of Piirissaare island and its residents though Georgi Pankruhhin's point of view - he is a local medical assistant and a resident of Piirissaare who has lived there for about fifty years. Georgi thinks back to the times when there were ten times more residents, more children and even a school for them in Piirissaare. Currently, in the year of 1987, there are only elderly women and men living there who are still successfully growing onions.

The filmmakers who observe the daily life in Hiiumaa island get the overview about local problems of rural life from Udo Mäll, head of the local forest management unit. But the focus is on three local craftsmen – Aaser Erik who makes small carts; Aadu Kõrm who makes various items for horses (a maker of bits, spurs, and metal mountings for bridles and saddles) in his workshop; and Evald Hanikat who weaves baskets. These are men who express their regret that there won't be anyone whom they can leave their skills and tools to.
