    Anu-Laura Tuttelberg graduated MA degree in animation at Estonian Academy of Arts in 2013. She made her first animation Fly Mill (Kärbeste veski, 2012) a puppet film as her graduation film. Fly Mill has screened in numerous festivals around the world and won about 20 prizes. Her first film after graduation, a short animated film On The Other Side Of The Woods (Teisel pool metsa) premiered in June 2014 at Annecy International Animation Festival and has won three First Prizes and a Best Debut prize at festivals.

    Kersti Uibo

    1956

    Documentary film director and cameraperson Kersti Uibo was born on 22 September 1956 in Kilingi-Nõmme. In 1980 she graduated from the Maurice Thorez Institute of Foreign Languages in Moscow with a degree in English and German philology, in 1991 from University of London with a bachelor’s degree in history, and in 1995 from the National Film and Television School (NFTS) with a master’s degree in documentary directing. During Uibo’s studies at NFTS, the documentary directing course was run by the Italian-American Herb DiGioia, who is associated with the Direct Cinéma school of the sixties in the USA. One of the guest lecturers at NFTS was the legendary Richard Leacock.  From 1985-2015 Kersti Uibo lived and worked in London, since 2015 she has been living permanently in Tallinn. Since 1995 she has been a freelance documentary film director and film teacher.

    Mihkel Ulk (born 12.12.1983) is an Estonian film director. He graduated from Tallinn University’s Film studies BA program cum laude in 2006 and subsequently attended Baltic Film and Media School Masters programme, from which he graduated in 2010 as a Film director. He has directed commercials, short films, documentaries and several TV programmes. His feature film debut, «Zero Point», was the most watched Estonian film in 2014. In 2015 he received the Best Debut award in audio-visual art category at the Cultural Endowment of Estonia annual awards. The same year he was given the Outstanding Alumni award by Tallinn University.

    Founder and creative director of Alle-Saija Teatritalu – a small country theatre with its own theatre house and group of actors. Studies acting and directing at the Polygon Theatre School (course supervisor Tamur Tohver, class of 2022).

    Director Riho Unt (1956) graduated from the Estonian State Institute of Arts in 1982 as a Set Designer. Over the years, he has made more than 30 animated films. His films have won numerous awards and travelled to major animation festivals. His short animation The Master won the Jury Award at Annecy Film Festival in 2015. He has taught animation in the universities in Estonia and abroad, given master classes, and has regularly been a member of film festival juries. He has worked as a director and production designer in Tallinnfilm, Nukufilm, and as a freelancer, as well as created illustrations and children`s books.

    Maria Uppin (maiden name Kivirand) was born 1986 in Tallinn Estonia. During high school she started to study music and theatre and from there she got inspiration to study filmmaking. In 2005 she went to Spain to study language and culture. In 2006 she came back to Estonia to study film and media. She graduated Baltic Film and Media School Bachelors degree in Audiovisual Media and Masters in Documentary and Television course (cum laude). She has been producer, director and editor to different short documentaries and TV programs. Filmography as director: short documentary “Urban Tundra” (2011), “Viis nostalgiale”/Mood for Nostalgia” (2012), “Lauküla koit”/”Koit from Lauküla” (2012), “Armastus käib kõhu kaudu”/”The Other Side of the Plae”(2013), “Mängur”/”HDTanel” (2015), “Kliimapagulased”/”Snowbirds” (2018).

    Robi Uppin was born 1978 in Tallinn Estonia. When he was ten years old he moved to Sweden. There he found interest in movies, TV-games and electronic music. 2005 he went to Japan Tokyo to study the language and culture. In 2006 he started studies in Baltic Film and Media School as Audiovisual Media student. In 2012 he graduated studies in BFM in Documentary and Television masters program. He has been director, cinematographer and sound designer for many short documentaries, TV programs and fiction films.
