Life in Paunküla nursing home follows its daily pattern. Yet, every routine activity is a special event for the elderly residents: waking up in the morning, having meals, taking medicines. Daily routine is brightened up by social gatherings, birthdays, and, of course, by Christmas. The elderly women, each of them being a personality, are living now in a forgotten world and their close ones are replaced by caretakers, nurses and doctors.
