Biographical documentary about Ants Eskola, a great actor of 20th century (until 1935 also known by name as Gerhardt Esperk) who faced various times in history and survived several existential choices. With the help of archival photographs and excerpts of film, Eskola's and his contemporaries' recollections a colourful story of the actor's life is opening up, including his birth and his first florescence, the art school, theatre and variety singing, betrayal and imprisonment in Siberia, return to the stage and becoming the artist of Estonian nation, children and grandchildren, Russia and the United States of America.
