People living in rural areas and the changes in today's life in the countryside. Ott Kooli, journalist and the director of the film, contemplates on rural life, both of its past and its present. Various agricultural work has been filmed in Haljala collective farm, the film also depicts men fixing machines in a shop and talking about work. The closer look is taken at the Kesküla family who besides the work at the collective farm continues also preserving the traditions of Estonian farm life.
