Plot summary

A bittersweet science fiction drama about coming to terms with loss and grief.

In the near future, a psychotherapy clinic technician is driven to try out an experimental treatment on himself. Namely he is trying to erase the traumatic pain of his mother's suicide, which happened a year earlier. He is driven to prematurely do the experimental procedure on himself due to extreme PTSD trigger. However there are side effects, he finds out that he experiences time skips, hallucinations, possible amnesia. Panicked, he tries to reverse the procedure by running a failsafe protocol. He wakes up to discover that the failsafe has worked too well. His mind projects his dead mother standing in front of him, motioning to follow her. Devastated and delirious, he follows his mom's hallucination to a nearby beach, into the water and in tears embraces her. They walk out into the sea holding hands, but the hallucination shatters and as he walks deeper and deeper, he drowns alone.
