Poet and director Eik Erik Sikk’s short fiction film tells a grotesque story about our fear of living aimlessly.
Juhan (Ott Aardam) wakes up before dawn to a document proclaiming his imminent death at 08:30 AM. Now the man is set for a challenge to find a way of spending his last two hours as purposefully as possible, so he continues with the way of life he is used to: letting others decide what to do.
While the first rays of sun start to appear, Juhan kills time, writing slogans for a life insurance company as his boss asks him to, spinning a wheel to decide the next mundane activity, listening to vinyls and drinking tea.
After a loud encounter with his techno enthusiast neighbour and a reappearing wall clock, the man finally decides to take his fate into his own hands – through suicide. Hanging on a rope in his kitchen, he notices that the death document was only a weak advertisement for a life insurance company. But now it does not matter any more. It is the morning, everything is quiet and beautiful.
