In Between (2022)

Oliver Remma’s short film is a poetic journey of an inner struggle at the hardest of moments.

The young medic Saar (Rainer Elhi) is trying to save wounded soldiers in a mid-winter battlefield, when he suddenly gets caught in the line of fire himself. He calmly leaves the trenches and wanders through the forest, before finding himself in the middle of an empty field where a burnt house stands. There he finds a strange old couple who invite him to share the last supper with them. Seeing the pair leave the house, Saar understands that he is not yet ready to go on that journey and takes the way back. Reaching the trench where he started from, it turns out his body never left it. After seeing the ohter side so close, he does everything to save himself.
