Black and White Colours (2019)

Original title in Estonian: Värvid must-valgel

Students film | Drama Duration 16:22

Plot summary

The short film “Black and White Colours” by BFM film students is a psychological satire about the time when television was transitioning from black and white to colour.

Paula (Tiina Tauraite) is an experienced news anchor whose biggest fear is ageing. The 70s TV is transitioning from black and white to colour. On one evening after the news show, the channel director asks Paula once again to give her answer whether she is willing to continue despite the transformation. Paula is hesitant, as the changes trigger her insecurities and she’s afraid her “true” colours will be illuminated on the colourized screen. The border between what is reality and what is delusion starts to disintegrate.
