Enn Nõu interviews Mihkel Martsoo in his home in Uppsala in November 1985. The old man recalls his studies in Pärnu Upper Secondary School for Boys, teachers, schoolmates and his activities during the publication of the Estonian Declaration of Independence (also known as the Manifesto to the Peoples of Estonia). The beginning of the War of Independence takes the 16-year-old young man with his schoolmates to the war.
