Question of Honor (2019)

The main subject is the concept of the patriotism and its state in the contemporary society. The trigger of the story is the national flag once hidden by small boy. The film starts in Tallinn, at memorial site for the victims of the communism, where Kalju is looking for his grandmother’s name. Back home Kalju is telling to Aleksander that the meaning of the patriotism is currently loosing its importance. The background story of the flag and the family destiny is introduced by Kalju. He is reading the diary for camera. Follows the trip to Saaremaa with the aim of finding the flag. The documentary ends with Aleksander’s ironical conclusion of him having fulfilled his obligations to his father and grandfather while he waits for the plane.
