Sünopsis

The film portrays Estonian rally driver Ott Tänak, one of the most elusive athletes in the eyes of the media with highly reclusive character. Viewers gain rare access in the course of one season to root for Ott’s pursuit for the WRC rallying series world championship title and simultaneously witness him getting accustomed to the new car in the new team. Through the eyes of the top driver whose daily routine sees him race at deadly speeds all over the globe, both the nail-biting and the glamorous life of the rallying world is seen. In parallel with the ups and downs from one rally to the next, a touching story unravels of how a stubborn kid from a small island in the Northeastern Europe broke into the rallying elite in spite of the long and winding road. Among others, talking about Ott will be his mentor and former successful WRC driver Markko Märtin, Ott’s former boss, Malcolm Wilson, head of M-Sport, the head of Ott’s current team Toyota Gazoo Racing and four-time world champion Tommi Mäkinen, his team-mates Jari-Matti Latvala and Esapekka Lappi, nine-time world champion Sébastien Loeb, six-time world champion and Ott’s former team-mate Sébastien Ogier. Well-known rally commentators Becs Williams, Colin Clark and Molly Pettit and Autosport Group Rallies Editor David Evans will also get a chance to speak.
