Estonian Ambassador Trivimi Vellisteʹs Speech on 50th Session of the UN General Assembly on April 21, 1995

Trivimi Velliste, Estonian Ambassador at the United Nations, emphasizes that Estonia supports the treaty on the non-proliferation of nuclear weapons. Estonia supports the treaties restricting the use of strategic weapons and hopes that the treaty about prohibiting all nuclear weapons testing will be accepted soon. According to Velliste, the end of Cold War did not bring immediately peace; however, extensive nuclear disarmament became possible. Estonia continues its efforts in international organizations to reduce levels of pollution and to fight against illicit nuclear trafficking that would increase both local and global security.
