Walker on Water (2022)

Original title: Vetelkõndija

Documentary Duration 86:00

Sünopsis

There’s a character in poetess and prose writer Kristiina Ehin’s book “The Last of the Monogamists” who walks on water. This person is looking for two things in life – love and truth. She is someone who still believes in miracles and is able to make them happen. Someone who’s not afraid to set challenges for herself and meet them... She is Kristiina, herself. Kristiina’s tragically playful figure is filmogenic both inwardly and outwardly. Her girlish, almost nymph-like appearance seems to imply an equally fragile personality. Kristiina’s sparkling eyes and modest smile hide an extraordinarily sharp pen, deep sense of the world, and interesting life philosophy, all despite her young age. It is this opposition, this magical combination that makes Kristiina into a good subject for a film. She seems to represent a very rare breed of women who have managed to preserve the purest, most feminine characteristics of womanhood. A breed that has a need to know its own roots, to understand one’s self and to find strength in ancient springs. A breed in danger of dying out.
