An authentic Pallasian (disciple of Pallas Higher Art School), Heldur Viires is not just admired but also loved and cared for by his students. A true master who continued sharing his painterly advice even at the age of 89, when he still visited the studio every afternoon to have a look at the nudes painted that morning. An old-school gentleman whose students gather together every year on the 24th of February to raise a glass of sparkling wine to the Estonian Republic. A vigilant spirit who has shared the path with Ülo Sooster, Henn Roode, Kaja Kärner, Lembit Saarts and many other classic Estonian artists.
