The 71st anniversary of the Republic of Estonia was celebrated festively in Canada in 1989, in addition to the festive concert in the hall of Toronto University, also by hoisting of the national flag in front of Toronto Town Hall. The event has been recorded by Edgar Väär. The speech is held by the Honorary Consul of the Republic in Estonia in Canada Ilmar Heinsoo and by representative of Toronto City William Boychuk.
