Documentary series "Our World", 11/12
In 2016 it was seven years since the end of the civil war in Sri Lanka. Some people don't even remember who the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam were and for what they were fighting. At the same time, we are witnessing the growth of extremism in Europe as well as the military conflict in Ukraine. It seems that the history of Sri Lanka civil war serves as the best example how easily increasing jingoism can lead us to aggressive conflicts. But what makes people hate? Where is the formula of integration and peaceful co-existence? The authors of the documentary are searching for the answers together with the residents of post-civil war Sri Lanka – tea pickers, fishermen, sellers, workers of the tourism centre and especially guide Michael.
Filmi autorid otsivad neid vastuseid koos sõjajärgse Sri Lanka elanikega - teekorjajate, kalurite, müüjate, turismikeskuse töötajate ja eelkõige giid Michaeliga.
