Day of Daisies (2015)

75 years ago young enthusiast Helju Mikkel (later known as Memm) brought together a group of students who were interested in folk arts. They started to study and perform old Estonian folk songs and dances and thus founded one of the oldest performance groups in Estonia: University of Tartu Folk Dance Ensemble.
With the rise of interest in folk arts, the group became extremely popular during Soviet times, and founds it way to television, Olympic games etc. All these years it carried on both despite and thanks to the authorities.
In "Day of Daisies" Helju Mikkel and Henn Tiivel (leaders of the group) reveal how much sweat and tears it took. They take us into the world of youth: filled by training, friendships, love and quarrels. Simultaneously we follow the current students on their way to Folk Dance Festival in Tallinn in 2014.
