The story is about work environment and specifics of professions in The Crematorium of Riga, the only working crematorium in Latvia. The crematorium serves up to 6 cases per day offering a full service for managing the issues regarding to death. It makes work places for morgue workers, furnace operators, masters of ceremonies, coffin designers, hearse drivers and number of guards. It is a long list of professions that people do not talk about. As one of the characters said: “When my wife asks me where I am, I just have to tell her - there. She cannot even listen to the word crematorium.” The film illustrates the path that a corpse takes from the home, through cremation till the name stamps on the urn, aiming attention on the tenderness and beauty that the corpse goes through.
