Life with Herman H. Rott (2015)

DIRECTOR’S STATEMENT
Life with Herman H. Rott is inspired by the many unlikely couples I have met in my life. A messy punk living together with a prudent cleaning maniac. The characters - Herman and Cat - were there already before the film, as a part of a webcomic called Manivald and the Absinthe Rabbits. I noticed that a lot of couples identify themselves with those two, commenting (either on social media or live) on how the rat is just like their boyfriend or the cat like their girlfriend. This gave me an idea to give Herman and Cat a little more space, in form of a short animated film.
