In memoriam Eesti kroon

Textile artist Elna Kaasik is inspired by the history of Estonian kroon in her work based on banknotes. The artist weaves carpets out of newspaper and banknote strips for the exhibition "Estonian Applied Art Slingshot 2011" - she calls her work as death cloths of the first Estonian currency. Estonian kroon was effective in the Republic of Estonia in 1924-1941 and was again taken into use in 1992 when Estonia regained its independence.
