Crimean teacher

In August 2008, a 23-year-old reporter Tiina Rekand working for the newspaper "Postimees", went to teach children with Estonian roots Estonian language at Aleksandrovka Secondary School in Crimea, Ukraine. She started to live in the house of Rita Kuusk-Kadilkina, the chairwoman of Estonian Society in Krasnodarka village. Rita is a descendant of Estonians who emigrated from Järva county, Estonia to Crimea in 1860s. As she defines herself: "I am a Crimean-Estonian". In the year of 2008, there are still people in Krasnodarka who speak Estonian when they meet.
