Purge (2012)

Original title: Puhastus

Based on the novel "Purge" by Sofi Oksanen

Feature film | Drama Duration 125:00

Purge

Zara is a young prostitute who manages to escape from the Russian mafia that has enslaved her. She hides herself in a lonely forest farm where her only Estonian relative Aliide lives. The story of these two women takes us back in time for several decades, telling about fatal love and jealousy, hatred and violence, war and deportation, betrayal and death. Inhuman conditions magnify inhuman behaviour, fixed ideas and hate. Even if the times have changed, violence is still there, in disguise.
