Helmi, the daughter of a Baltic German baron, is imbued with life. She grows up in an old town house in Tallinn being neighbours with Julius, cinema technician, who has lifelong feelings for Helmi. Their lives and destinies meet in the old house throughout the 20 century - the house that keeps changing together with various times, both restless and happy.
