The events of the film "Hella W" take place during the most decisive decade in European history - from 1920s to 1940s. By that time, Wuolijoki had earned millions and written several politically incorrect plays. Due to her left-wing views, her activities were observed both by British, Soviet and Finnish secret services. When the events of the Second World War developed, Hella found herself in a situation that knew no simple solutions ... Among other jobs, Wuolijoki also worked as a co-author for Postimees newspaper. Her plays are a part of history of literature, including the Niskavuori series, The Farmer's Daughter, and Mr Puntila and His Man Matti - the last work has been co-written with Bertolt Brecht.
