Lake Ülemiste is located directly by Tallinn airport and is the mostly used natural lake in Estonia. Figuratively speaking, every resident of Tallinn is in direct contact with the lake through their tap - drinking water has been taken from the lake already since 14th century. The prohibited zone around the lake makes the territory a valuable natural environment for birds, animals and fish who have to compete with airplanes.
