The Eleventh Letter by Henrik Visnapuu (2009)

Original title: Henrik Visnapuu üheteistkümnes kiri

Documentary Duration 98:00

In 1940s there were dramatic events going on both in Henrik Visnapuu's (1890-1951) life, in Estonia and in the whole world. His beloved wife Ing died at that time; the poet fleed from his homeland and suffered from being in exile in Austra, Germany and the United States of America. People who met and remember him share their memories about Visnapuu. Next to the romantic stories as the leitmotif of the film there are also several issues discussed such as relationship with the authorities, being a poet and staying true to oneself during politically complicated situations.
