After his wife dies, Mati has no wish to live any more. His colleague Ruth and daughter Mari carefully try to help him but this won't take Mati's pain away. He will eventually get hospitalized and then caregiver Sass comes to help Mati. Sass is a friend to everyone, especially those in trouble. Mati doesn't really care for being friends with anyone; but Sass's sincerity and positive world view make it impossible to turn away.
